Welcome to Woodstock, IL Transition! Our focus is on the sustainability and resiliency of our community Рincluding bolstering local food, encouraging DIY, helping with environmental sustainability projects, and more.

Lots of folks in Woodstock are working on these projects and for these goals every day, and coming together as an organized group of citizens as a Transition Town will help strengthen our efforts and provide meaningful solidarity. Won’t you join us?

The Transition movement was created in Ireland as a result of the work of a permaculture educator to provide a model for increasing community sustainability and resiliency in the face of global change.

Woodstock, IL has already embraced many of the Transition concepts with its robust local food network, resident-owned businesses, sustainability initiatives and open space and farm land conservation.

The goal of this group is three-fold –

  • To provide fellowship and networking for like-minded individuals
  • To serve as an incubator for developing new projects within the community
  • To provide education and outreach on sustainability and resiliency topics

We’re just getting organized at Woodstock, IL Transition – to get in on the ground floor of helping people connect, organizing projects and setting up events to enact real change, connect with us at woodstockiltransition@gmail.com.

We won’t waste your time with a bunch of business meetings and an endless train of paperwork – we’ll decide what needs to get done, and go do it!
